Willow Creek partners with law enforcement for crisis intervention training

Officers at a crisis intervention training

In April, Willow Creek Behavioral Health teamed up with the Brown County National Alliance on Mental Illness to provide crisis intervention training (CIT) to 25 law enforcement officers. These officers took time to strengthen their understanding of mental health and build skills in de-escalation and compassionate response. Their commitment makes a meaningful difference for individuals and families in our community.

Willow Creek is proud to support the twice-per-year CIT for law enforcement professionals throughout the communities we serve. Officers from police departments, sheriff departments, correctional institutions, dispatch teams, and other public safety agencies are invited to participate. in this important training opportunity.

CIT helps equip first responders with the knowledge, communication skills, and de-escalation techniques needed when responding to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, substance use crisis, or emotional distress. The program strengthens collaboration between behavioral health providers and law enforcement while helping improve safety, understanding, and outcomes for both officers and community members.

At Willow Creek, we believe education, partnership, and compassion play a critical role in supporting mental health within our communities. We are honored to help support and participate in CIT training and deeply appreciate the dedication of the officers and first responders who continue to serve with professionalism, empathy, and care.
