Personal Items

We want everyone to feel comfortable during their stay at Willow Creek. Safety is our top priority. To keep everyone safe, we search, inspect and inventory each patient’s belongings at admission.

Clothing and Other Items

We mark clothing labels with the patient’s initials for easy identification.

Personal electronic devices (cell phones, handheld gaming devices, vapes or e-cigarettes) and any other electronic or battery-operated items

  • Hygiene products (perfume, cologne, makeup, mirrors, hair dryers, curling irons or razors) NOTE: All hygiene products and toiletries will be provided by the facility.
  • Glass/metal/ceramic items
  • Food/snacks/gum/candy
  • Non-prescription medications
  • Jewelry
  • Alcohol / Drugs and/or paraphernalia
  • Explosives (e.g. firecrackers)
  • Flammable liquids
  • Weapons
  • Tobacco products, lighters or matches (cigarettes can be provided for smokers ages 21 and older).
  • Syringes
  • Wallet Chains

We strongly encourage patients and families NOT to bring expensive clothing or personal items with a high dollar value.

  • Tennis or running shoes (Velcro preferred, no shoelaces allowed)
  • Extra pair of shoes
  • Flip flops
  • 3 shirts
  • 3 pairs of pants
  • 3 shorts (length within 2-3” of the knees)
  • 3 sets of underwear/bras (no underwires)
  • 1 jacket
  • No clothing with sexual content, alcohol or drug references, gang signs or affiliation, inappropriate or vulgar language or images, racial slurs or other discriminatory content or violence.
  • No sagging pants
  • No low-cut shirts, tank tops or halter tops
  • No see-through/thing apparel
  • No bandanas, hats, scarves, belts, hoods, hats or headwear of any kind.
  • No jewelry or watches
  • No spandex or other tight-fitting clothing.
  • No ties or drawstrings
  • No underwires
  • No clothing with rips, holes or frayed edges.
Patients are Encouraged to Bring:
  • Personal photos (no frames)
  • Personal books/magazines (therapist approval needed)
  • Journal (no metal)
  • Sketch pad (no metal)

If a patient has belongings that are not appropriate, we will send the items home, when possible. Luggage is taken home at the time of admission.
